Datum Tool Design Contribution to Airbus A380 Composite Tooling Programme

Datum Tool Design has played an important role in supporting the Airbus A380 programme, contributing specialist tooling and engineering expertise to the manufacture and assembly of key composite aircraft structures.

Working directly with Airbus Stade and Airbus Varel tool manufacture facilities, Datum supported the development and delivery of tooling used in the production of critical components of the A380 aircraft.

The work involved advanced tooling solutions for composite structures including the vertical tail, wing components and assembly jigs, helping support efficient manufacturing processes within the Airbus supply chain.
