Datum Tool Design Supports Bombardier C-Series Composite Wing Tooling Programme

Datum Tool Design has supported the development of the Bombardier C-Series aircraft programme, providing specialist tooling solutions for composite wing structures used within the aircraft platform.

Working in conjunction with Bombardier and aerospace tool manufacturing partners, Datum contributed engineering expertise in the development of tooling required for demonstrator wing structures and composite wing component manufacture.

The project involved tooling solutions for wing covers, spars and stringers, supporting key composite manufacturing processes including preform development, handling systems and RTI curing tools.
